Guess Who is Tweeting Like a Bird on Twitter…

FYIWell, I’ll be…

I take a few days away from the blog and the cyberworld gained some new familiar faces.

For at 2pm on May 2nd… Anna Paquin sent out her first tweet into the madness we call the twitter fandom.

AP twitter post

These tweets were followed shortly after by an introduction and #FF mention by the @TrueBloodHBO twitter account.

I will admit, I am a bit surprised that they joined since they have avoided social media till now…. but it is now embeded into our culture it makes perfect sense. Not to mention my utter shock that the @TrueBloodHBO account was used for anything… since they don’t seem to believe in fan interaction anymore.

If you would like to follow Anna click here for Twitter and Instagram. If you would like to follow Stephen as well, here are his links for Twitter and Instagram.

And no… Alex is still not on any form of social media… unless its ubber private.

About B

Really, there is never enough Eric... I'm loyal to the Viking, no matter what. I will love him whether in Book, Show, and just because... my first thoughts are of him and I close my eyes to dream of him. As far as I'm concerned, the night can not get here soon enough.

  1. I think it’s probably a publicity stunt cooked up by HBO. I can’t imagine the Moyers being big Tweeters after their TB stint is over. **giant eye roll**

  2. ^^^ I wondered that too . They never did tis before until now .

  3. It’s real, a lot of celebrities are on Twitter now, ones I never thought would join in a million years.

  4. Good for them!

  5. already following them. But Thanks for letting Everone know. I think they finally realized that they need to get established into the twitter verse, since TB will be over after this summer and they need to keep in the public eye with their CASM Production Co. to promote their projects. etc.

  6. Thanks, B. 🙂 So, on Thursday, that fan pic of Alex that seems to reveal a major plot point about Eric hits the Internet. On Friday, HBO releases official s7 photos that don’t include Eric and Pam, and, after six seasons of social media silence, Anna and Stephen join Twitter and Instagram. Interesting. 🙂 If I didn’t know any better, I would wonder if some of this is an attempt by HBO to try to force the audience to start pulling away from Eric and maybe “replace” him with other characters. Makes me go hmmm…

OT, but not really: anyone else here see the pic of Kristin “reading” an advance copy of The Book Author Who Shall Not Be Named’s latest (non-SVM) book? Interesting too. 🙂 Take care. 🙂

    • I agree with you sookieandericaretheonetruelove it seems to me that all this to manipulate people to watch the show!! and If I were Kristen I’ll burn that book! Take care everybody

    • I actually have to disagree with you on the why behind the twitter, and it has nothing to do with this show… More to set themselves up for life after TB. HBO it’s self is not involved beyond introducing the fact that they are on twitter via the show account. This is something they do with other HBO talent on their other programming as well.

My personal beef with the TB social media accounts is not related.

And you know it, I know it… And they know it… Eric’s following is too strong. We’ll either watch or we won’t watch. And either way, we have no problem telling them how we feel

On the OT, I saw the pic and rolled my eyes.

      • B-Thank you for your reply. 🙂 I agree with you that it makes sense for Anna/Stephen to set up for life after TB (I also agree with Redthang914 who made a similar point earlier). Frankly, I’m surprised that they held out for so long (and that Alex seems to still be holding out-but what if he’s secretly online, and some of us are unknowingly “talking” to him? 🙂 ). I just thought the timing was interesting, happening right around the time of the Alex fan pic and all the other TB/Book Author stuff online. I know that not everything is a conspiracy (lol). I think it’s smart to be on social media; this way you can “control the message” when you want/need. Thank you for explaining the HBO and Twitter stuff. 🙂

        (And hello again, Jackie69. 🙂 )

      • I have to agree with B in that they might have to get more involved with social media for life after TB if only to keep in touch so to speak. IMO, I think it is okay for actors to have private social media, I know I would have a private one.

On the OT, glad she seemed to be enjoying her ARC but I rolled my eyes as well and kept my thoughts to myself!

  7. We shall see just how long they stay on Twitter???
If the account is “Still active” after the end of True Blood, then we will know
that it’s for real…..but if it’s gone after TrueBlood ends then we will know it’s fake.

  8. I don’t give the damn about their luv affair. I had enough “Billy luv Sookie” cr*p.

I am done with this show. I finally made up my mind that I decided to not watch the final season and I asked my mom cancel HBO after Game of Thrones is over, because I broke down cried after I saw the pic of Eric with black veins. I also got tick off when I saw it. 😦 😦 😦

These writers has no respect for our viking and his fans. I can’t believe they did that to our poor dear Eric by giving Hep V, not douchbag. I feels outrage and disappointant right now. :(…My biggest fears and nightmares that I believe are coming true. I’m totally afraid of that Sookie’s going to use her faery ball on Eric and ends up HEA by becoming douchbag’s vamp slave. I really hope not he across over with Godric and Nora. I really really really hope this never happens, but I doubt it. 😥

I’ll always check up on your guys. I’ll always be there to support you guys. Right now, I am hopeless. 😦

    • Shelli-if you see this, please hang in there. 🙂 I’m sorry you got so upset when you saw the Alex-as-Eric pic. I’m not happy about what I saw in the pic either, but I’m not surprised. There had been speculation by others in that direction for a while, and the pic seems to confirm it. Again, I reiterate that I think “HEA” will be Sookie/Sam, but I also expect Sookie to be “friends” with Beel, and to continue to have little or nothing to do with Eric. That’s how the books ended, so I’m emotionally prepared if the show ends the same.

The trend in television/books now seems to be deliberately shocking and p*ssing off the audience rather than figuring out the story they want to tell, committing to it, and telling it to the best of their ability. If you (and/or anyone else here) is interested, there is an excellent essay about this very subject in this week’s Entertainment Weekly (the one with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort from The Fault in Our Stars film on the cover). It’s called “The Thrones Effect” by Melissa Maerz. It sums up my feelings about this trend very well.

I’ve enjoyed “talking” to you, Shelli, and I hope to “see” you again. If I don’t, I hope you’re happy and content in your personal life (including better TV shows and books). Take care, Shelli. 🙂 🙂 🙂

      • That is what gets me, the powers that be USED to listen to what fans wanted to see in a show as they would send out surveys and what not. They don’t have to do it exactly the way fans want but it does not help to piss off the majority of your fan base. It makes me think twice about watching another HBO Original and never again buy a book from an author who mind raped me. That should be a lesson learned from all involved. But let’s not hijack this post I am sorry for my part in the hijack! It won’t happen again but I had to get that out there.

        • Hi, Nymerias! 🙂 (And hi, Shelli.) I didn’t mean to “hijack” B’s post either. Getting back on topic: social media definitely has its pros and cons, like anything else. I see both sides of the equation. Whatever actors (and non-actors) choose to do or not do has to be right for them individually, of course. FWIW, I’m definitely paying attention to Anna’s and Stephen’s Twitter/Instagram. 🙂 Take care.

          • Hi back at ya! 🙂 I toned down who I was following on Twitter as all the tweets are hard to follow and a lot of it is repetition so if I follow the same person as a friend or page does then I see the retweets twice as much. So for this reason I will not be following anyone new. Unless Alex happened to start tweeting which I highly doubt….lol!
