The Con Is On…….

….San Diego Comic Con that is! I wish I was attending because there are so many things happening there, as per usual, but this year there seems to be so much more going on.

I will just have to live vicariously through a few friends who are attending. Again but one day, my ship will come in.

One if those friends would be our very own B who has already touched down in San Diego and already shared a few things. Let the vicarious living begin!

There are pros and attending to attending #SDCC or any Con as I was told.

1. Seeing all your favorite actors from your favorite shows all in one place.

2. Seeing previews of shows/movies before anyone else.

3. Seeing your friends and spending time with them.

4. Seeing people decked out in costumes of their favorite characters.

I am sure there are more Pros but as I’ve never been, I would have to ask the PROS! See what I did there?!

1. Standing in line to make sure you get a good seat for a certain hall or ballrooms panels. This includes camping out in those said lines. I was told the lines are massively long and have seen the pictures.

2. I am told that body odor is a problem and I wonder why? (Insert sarcasm here) Camping out and standing in lines in the California heat, no wonder! Pack some extra deodorant to save yourself the embarrassment please.

3. With so much to do and see at #SDCC, it would be hard to make a decision about what to see and what to cut!

4. The cost of attending #SDCC will put a huge dent in the old bank account. Between hotel rooms, food and souvenirs, Comic Con just might break you!

5. Exhaustion would set in and I think a CONOVER will be had by all!

I would think that is just the tip of the iceberg with both PROS and CONS. With that being said, I would go in a heartbeat if I could! Especially this year!

Starz Outlander will be having a red carpet premiere of the first episode on Thursday as well as a panel, featuring the director, author of the book series and the cast! SQUEE! Plus, there will be a booth!

There are the regular panels that interest me, True Blood, Supernatural, Game Of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon A Time, The Originals, and so much more!

Then, there is the TV Guide Fan Favorite Panel to which I know include Colin O’Donahue (Hook OUAT), Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser Outlander) and Misha Collins (Castiel Supernatural), just to name a few! Too many good looking men in one room and I believe there was more. They lost me with these three!

San Diego Comic Con 2014 kicks off tomorrow with preview night and concludes Sunday! Viking Wenches (aka B) will be tweeting throughout Con as well as live tweeting during panels, mainly the True Blood panel!

  1. Nym, do you think Alex will be there even if he’s not on the list? Like a surprise visit or sth? Does that happen?

    • I am sorry but Alex won’t be at Comic Con this year! He is currently in London filming Tarzan. I know B is hoping that he will be available via satellite for True Blood and the Giver.

  2. I’d like to go one year, but I think this con would be a bit much for me. Dragon*Con is about the extent of what I can handle, there’s so many panels that I wouldn’t even know what to choose.

    • That would be my problem, making the decision on what to attend. Patience is not something I have in spades so waiting through panels I am not interested in would do me in. Also waiting in line for something to begin and for a good seat. I need to learn patience if I ever want to go.

      • Yeah, I wouldn’t be able to wait in those lines since I have a problem with standing for too long, lots of walking is also not so good. I don’t know how I’m going to handle D*C next month, this will probably be my hardest year yet.

        • I heard that Con is packed as well. If I never get to SDCC maybe I can swing the one in Chicago

          • Oh, yeah, it takes place in like five different hotels. This would be my seventh time going. You’d think I would have the hang of it by now…lol! Kristin Bauer will be there again, I love seeing her. And Michael McMillian, this would be my first time meeting him. I’ve met mostly everyone in the cast so far, not Alex, unfortunately, that would be a dream come true. I wish I could go to the one in Chicago, but it’s the weekend before D*C and I can’t do both. That’s also a little too far for me.

  3. I took you advice and started the Outlander series on Thursday. What a great book! I’m almost done with the first. I can’t put it down. I can’t wait to start the second. I almost wish I didn’t have to work so I could just read right through them. I guess I gotta pay for them some how. LOL! Thanks for recommending them!

  4. I really hope we don’t get the same Billy luv Sookie sh*t from Comic Con. There’s a lot of people are pi** right now at Buckner and annoying lovely dovely couple…..I would see people gives a lot of questions like “Will Eric make it” or “why you guy killing him off?”. I don’t blame them for wanting to known Eric’s faith…. I freaking hate these writers playing dumb.

  5. Can someone give me the name of the author for the outlander series of books. I would like to read them.

  6. Glad to read that we’ll be updated at what goes on at SDCC. Is anyone else wondering why Rollo is missing from the Vikings Banner above???? I know he can’t die, cause the story continues into the future with him. Unless they totally changed history in their story telling. Thought it was way strange…………….

Anyway, I look forward to B’s reports from the floor and panels.

  7. Lucky people who are going to ComicCon & the last Trueblood panel ever!!
I’m so jealous…have lots of fun, get as many autographs/photos that you can.
And pleease tell the guys from TrueBlood that we thank them immensely for
    Seven years of wonderful acting…….

  8. Best of luck to B and everyone at Comic-Con!! 🙂
