The One Where I Went MIA

*Wonders into ESL Headquarters, takes a look around and sees that nothing has changed. Her tea mug is in the same place she left it however many days ago. The whiteboard used to jot down ideas for future posts, is still in the same spot, along with our favorite color dry erase markers. The board is clear of it’s usual clutter of those different colored markers. After jotting down a message to my girls, I sit down in my favorite spot(bean bag chair)to start a long-awaited post. I don’t know what it will be yet, I just know it feels good to be at another place I call home.*

I know I have not been here in a while and you probably think that I may have abandoned you all or went missing in action.

I assure you that is not the case. I would never do that to our faithful readers, nor would I do that to B, Erika, or Evie. They are my sisters, even if not by blood. We are all still one big family.

I simply went on a much needed vacation, away from the True Blood fandom for a while. I think most of you may know that I started a new blog in a different fandom. I did not realize that I needed a break but since taking a vacation of sorts, my mind is more clear and the creative juices were flowing again. It helped having another outlet where the creative juices flowed like magic from my fingertips again. I felt as if I were all used up. I think I got this now!

I have wondered during these last few weeks of my vacation if I was too hard on True Blood. Was I an entitled viewer who wanted to see great, quality television and felt as if she was getting short-changed? Was I wrong about my feelings toward the show the last couple of seasons? I wondered if I was wrong about True Blood and that we all really watched 7 great seasons?

WRONG! I was not wrong because it was still awful and nothing can change that but guess what? I miss all the little things that came with this fandom. Mainly, all the readers of this blog that we connected with due to this show. I still have my friends from here at ESL and from SVB. I miss Sunday Skars, Fangpinions, Throwback Thursdays and Flashback Friday’s.

I wanted to incorporate some of those things into my new blog (the latter three mostly) but they belong here at ESL, my first real blogging home. (Note: Sunday Skars was a SVB thing but deserved a mention)

I am finding new friends in my new fandom and it has the same feel to it. The camaraderie is there, that same sense of passion and love and I love being just as much a part of it as I was in our True Blood/Eric/Sookie world. The Outlander world sticks together just as much and as well but you never forget your first.

I miss all you crazy but loveable readers of ours. I especially miss writing here and I will have to think of great posts to entertain you Wenches with. I am great at multitasking when I put my mind to it and can handle two different blogs, especially since I have help and it is established now.

I really miss B, Erika (who probably has a hangover) and Evie so much and talking about casting calls, episode titles, what songs would be used and who was going to review what episode. It’s amazing what you get used to. I feel we are at a new learning curve with this blog and what exactly we plan on doing. We have just been winging it, (Evie and B especially)and it appears that flying by the seat of your pants is working. I will try to be more present and do my part to bring you, our faithful readers, some really great posts!

I leave you with this Throwback Thursday moment! xxxx

*Gets out of her bean bag chair to add an extra message to her sisters on the Whiteboard that says ‘Here’s to keeping the blog going any way we can love you all XOXO Nymerias’ walks out of ESL Headquarters with thoughts of returning with some flowers to liven the place up*

  1. Glad you are back! You can throw me back to that Thursday any time!

  2. Well, Welcome back Nymerias!! You were right, kinda thought that poor B was here by her lonesome self trying to keep the few of us remaining diehard fans entertained. I really did think so many of the E&S fans were so fickle, but I guess now that the new Fall shows are back and some of the new ones are pretty good too, they don’t want to hang around much anymore. Although I myself am guilty of not visiting the forum either so maybe there are some new posts in there that I haven’t seen either.

Right now I am going through an Alex withdrawal. I can’t believe that they are able to keep such a tight ship on the Tarzan filming. I would almost kill to see a pic of him right now. Even his weekends have been kept quiet, so its’ been pretty rough. No new word on the release of the two films he has in the can, i.e. The Hidden, and DOATG. Hopefully those will be released starting in 2015, so we can have something in front of us to watch. I’m getting tired of rewatching the others, not tired of Alex (never gonna happen) but the plots are getting kinda of old to me. But its’ still better than nothing I guess.

I’m afraid if they keep everything hush-hush about Tarzan and don’t release his other films, people are going to start forgetting about him and he is going to lose his momentum with his fans. I don’t want Tarzan to bomb as I have a feeling this is his start as an A-lister. But I guess only time will tell………….

Hope you can think up something awesome to write about, as we need to keep the other fans engaged in the fandom, perhaps getting them back here, or at least interested once again.

Thanks for writing!!! The others and I will be waiting to see what comes next.

    • I know, been dying to see some filming of him as Lord John/Tarzan. Looking forward to when the movies he finished will released so we can see him in Red Carpet fashion.

I hope I can find something to write to entertain you all and myself. I will still be working at my new site as well. A little skarsgardfans y as well. Probably spreading myself a bit thin! 🙂 xxx

  3. opps,I want to correct, first lines’ “did to didn’t” sorry for the mistake………………

  4. I miss you too Nymerias. I miss True Blood (just ignoring the final season) and I miss Eric Northman like crazy.

So glad your Outlander blog is such a success!!

Me, I’m still stuck in Viking Vampire withdrawal mode **sigh**

  5. how can I find your new Outlander page?? I love that show and I love how you are on this blog you are wonderful!!

  6. Nymaris:
we’re all going thru some sort of TrueBlood withdrawal….
I’ve not been myself since the Finale…I’ve been known to fly off the handle if
my husband annoys me I’m in need of a new Vampire novel or film.
Supposedly a new version of the telling of the story of Vlad the Impaler
and how he became Dracula comes out on Oct. 10th……
I’m hoping to go to see ? If I don’t see it in the theaters I’ll watch it on cable.

  7. Wish we could still rate each other’s comments like we used to!!!!

  8. I miss all my Bon Temps pals… TV just isn’t the same. Sure there are maybe a handful of shows that are watchable for the Fall lineup, but none so far have stuck with me like TB did. Maybe, just maybe, there is an executive board meeting discussing an Eric and Pam spinoff as we speak. We can hope 🙂

  9. Hi, Nymerias. 🙂 I haven’t been around in a while myself. Nice (belated for me) Throwback Thursday pic.
